Today was a big day – a great day! I went to see Euan Craig talk about his experiences of living and working as a potter in Japan. He gave us a brilliant power point presentation of how he became a potter, moved to Japan, studied, worked and then how he and his family survived the recent earthquake. Euan’s quiet. poetic and sincere approach to his life and work was inspirational. Following this moving presentation was a demonstration that held his audience spellbound. Thank you Euan for a great day and to the Australian Ceramics Association for organising it.
A bonus day indeed – walking there I spied pots by the eternal Lucie Rie and Hans Coper in the Liverpool Street Gallery and and on the way back popped into Sabia and was colour bombed by Pippin Drysdale’s stunning works.
Hello Cecilia
I am absolutely delighted that you like the pots – thank you! It is wonderful that you are such of fan of ceramics.
Congratulation on your winning entry – Katoomba Library looks fabulous and I certainly will visit next time I am in the Blue Mountains. I will post some photos on my blog shortly of that night – there is a super one of you receiving the award.
Thanks too for the info about the contact page – I will get on to that immediately.
Hello Katherine,
Wanted to say thank you for the awards i received at the Green Interior Design awards for Katoomba Library. They are absolutely wonderful. I love their shape, their construction and intentional wobbliness. I love the sound they make – like Buddhist ceramic bells. I also love their design and decorative landscapes. The matt and gloss textures, the way the glazes and fine scratchings create a rich texture – all wonderful. I guess i need to contact Julie Patterson also on the design and writing.
One of my first loves is ceramics and art in general. It was amazing to receive as my first 2 awards ever, two beautiful ceramic pieces. Thank you once again – it is indeed an honour to have your work and Julies. A warm hug, Cecilia Kugler
Ps-I tried leaving a message on the contact page but it does not seem to do anything when i press send/ submitt.
